I receive "There was a problem with reindexing process" when indexing products

This is very common problem when running search indexing (not only blast search lucene index)

Message "There was a problem with reindexing process" ussualy means that indexer which was executed via browser time out

If you check Self-Diagnosing page you'll see


PHP execution time limit: 180s

This information is taken from your php.ini file (max_execution_time)


To avoid problems with long indexing (f.e. if your server is slow or you have many SKUs) you can increase that value


run indexing from SSH command line (look into shell folder)
